Επιτομή: The ongoing evolution of the society has brought about a change in the consumer’s mentality, which has compelled businesses to alter their behavior. Along with society’s growing concern about the environment, “green marketing” has gradually emerged pervading all aspects of consumers habits. Such activities are applied not only to the consumer goods, but also to the industrial goods and services, and they include modification of the production process, advertising techniques as well as changes in packaging materials. Biodegradable packaging and films are produced using biopolymers whose molecules are often found in living organisms, like proteins and cellulose. After multiple researches through the years, it was confirmed that biodegradable materials not only can be safely consumed, degrade quickly and be created by waste plant products but they also have some remarkable properties.
