Επιτομή: Cannabis, also known as marijuana, has a long and intricate history deeply intertwined with human civilization. Ancient civilizations recognized its medicinal properties, and cannabis has been used for various purposes, including medicinal, spiritual, and recreational, for thousands of years. The cultivation of cannabis involves deliberate and controlled practices to ensure successful growth. Environmental conditions play a crucial role, including temperature, humidity, light, and ventilation. Nutrients, such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, are essential for plant development. Various cultivation methods, including indoor, outdoor, and greenhouse cultivation, are employed based on factors like climate, available space, and desired product outcome and quality. Medical cannabis products come in various forms; oils and tinctures are popular options, made by extracting cannabinoids and other beneficial compounds from cannabis plants and suspending them in carrier oil or alcohol solution. Capsules provide a convenient method of consumption, containing pre measured doses of cannabinoids in an oral form. Botrytis cinerea, commonly known as bud rot, is a significant threat to cannabis cultivation. This fungal pathogen can cause severe damage to cannabis plants, especially during flowering. It thrives in high humidity, and can quickly spread, leading to mold and reduced yields. Prevention and control measures, including proper sanitation, good airflow, and the use of fungicides if allowed, are crucial in managing Botrytis cinerea. For further information on these topics, various papers, books, and websites were referenced. Scientific papers include studies on cannabis cultivation, genetics, and the impact of Botrytis cinerea. Notable websites such as university resources and organizations dedicated to plant pathology provide comprehensive information on cannabis cultivation, diseases, and pest management. It’s important to note that specific laws and regulations regarding cannabis cultivation and medical uses vary across countries and regions. This paper provides a general overview and highlights key aspects of cannabis cultivations, genetics, medical products, and the threats posed by pathogens.
