Abstract: | This paper highlights the changing landscape of agriculture in Greece, starting from the times of ancient Greece and followed by the introduction of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in 1981 after the EU accession of the country. The last part of the study also covers the socioeconomic and legislative changes since the 1990s. It spotlights on Greece's heritage of biodiversity, with high percentage of special species, showing the impact of farming operations on this affluence. The study is also focused on the great extent to which Climate change can influence practice of Agriculture that excepts certain strategies that are developed to curb and adapt to the conditions changing. Conserving soil properties and multiplying productivity through the use of soil management practices such as minimum tillage or no tillage is what is studied. It considers the challenges of the practices proposed, aiming at backstopping the farmers with necessary support and resources. The objectives prepared to produce a green farming sector in Greece that will enable it to maintain the equilibrium between productivity, environmental protection, and climate change and socio economic risks. |
