Abstract: This research examines the Aegean landscape on the island of Paros, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, and unique biodiversity, and presents an interesting setting for researching sustainable landscape design practices. This paper explores the principle of xeriscaping and stormwater management methods. Moreover, strategies such as conserving water, enhancing biodiversity, and promoting sustainability in the Aegean Islands are necessary to achieve long-term sustainable landscapes. The significant issue of water scarcity in Paros was investigated in this study in relation to optimal landscape design and management. The research also examines the practical aspects, including soil analysis to optimize plant growth, antioxidant content, chlorophyll A, chlorophyll B, and carotenoids in plants to assess their nutritional value and resilience. The findings from this research contribute to our understanding of how innovative landscape design strategies can promote environmental sustainability, biodiversity enhancement, and community in global environmental challenges. Moreover the dissertation provides practical recommendations for landscape architects, and residents interested in adopting sustainable landscaping practices in water stressed environments, thereby facilitating the transition towards more resilient and ecologically conscious societies.
