dc.description.abstract | Cotton (Gossypium hirsutum L.) production in Greece is one of the most important sectioned crops and contributes highly to the agricultural economy. Major management practices by farmers concentrate on increasing the yield, while minimizing the production input costs mainly the plant nutrition. This study evaluates the effects of a commercial biostimulant system/concept (SANOVITA/STEFES) on crop productivity, with the aim to increase the production efficiency. The field data and their analysis for this cotton growing season, have shown significant yield increase in cotton when using 3 applications of the biostimulant product. In that case yield increased by 7%. The Return on Investment (ROI) for the farmer was positive (2.32 Euros return for each Euro spent for the 3 apps) and therefore, this nutrition management product is recommended to cotton farmers for increasing the sustainability/profitability of cotton production. | en_US |
