Abstract: | The use of garden roses in amenity horticulture is of great importance. This statement can be justified by the high number of varieties created by several breeders all over the world. For this reason this paper will analyze the categories of garden roses and by highlighting the most famous ones used in garden structuring worldwide as well as in Greece. Several nurseries, rose growers, wholesalers where involved in a survey discovering update information about Greek garden rose market. The cultivation of rose is stabilized among farming as a significant issue. The promotion of the academic knowledge and the acquisition of experience at the area of American Farm School the last three years in Thessaloniki delineate the manifold aspects of rose cultivation.
