This specific investigation has a unique goal of covering all of the aspects and ingredients of the horsemeat scandal. Content analysis of media reports originating from different coverage backgrounds are utilized for a better understanding of the issue. Primarily, an examination is conducted of the EU legislative bodies and their relevance to the scandal, as well as several already existing EU legislative acts and their application to the issue. Furthermore, an analysis of the general meat industry is conducted, so as to understand their action plans to regain the lost consumer trust. Accordingly, although this is detrimental for the consumers, they can still benefit from it by putting pressure on the EU legislative bodies for a stricter control.en_US
