dc.description.abstract | The olive production in the last 20 years has undergone major changes with the introduction of the high and super high systems, adapted for mechanical harvesting. The Perrotis College has established in 2011 a unique Educational-Research-Demonstration olive grove, where a number of agronomic variables affecting yield and olive quality are evaluated under a long-term period to provide comparative information for Greek and International farmers of such high density systems. This study aims to evaluate effects of a commercial biostimulant system (SANOVITA/STEFES) on the yield, and pest and diseases of a super high density system. Data were collected and appropriately analyzed. Results have shown significant effects of the biostimulant in increasing the yield and in decreasing the insect and disease infestation. Therefore, it is recommended to olive farms to use this products for sustainable olive production. | en_US |
