dc.description.abstract | The purpose of the current dissertation is to examine the propagation of a geranium species (Pelargonium graveolens L.) through a research that was set up in the greenhouse of the American Farm School, Thessaloniki. The study is divided into 2 parts. The first part discusses the nature of the plant roots, as well as the propagation and germination principles of the Pelargonium graveolens plant. The uses and their importance of the specific plantare also briefly discussed. The second part of the paper describes the research that was set up in the greenhouse of the American Farm School, with the aim of propagating and testing the root growth of Pelargonium graveolens 270 cuttings. The propagation was based on 9 substrates and 3 hormones, which were the treatments that the cuttings were planted into, whereas the results were statistically analyzed by the JMP 8 statistical software. In the end of the paper, suggestions and recommendations are being cited so as to inform the reader on the most preferable treatments that came out of the statistical analysis, concerning the Pelargonium graveolens germination and propagation. | en_US |
